Optimum Group Services retains prestigious contract with Lloyd's Register

Soft skills and a commitment to providing a high level of service based on the customer's needs lead Optimum Group Services to retain a prestigious maintenance contract at Lloyd's Register headquarters in the heart of London.
Optimum Group Services (Optimum) are delighted to announce that they have successfully won a five-year extension to their maintenance contract at Lloyd's Register's headquarters in Fenchurch Street, London. Optimum has provided exceptional quality mechanical and engineering (M&E) and fabric services for this prestigious property for the past three years. Under the new contract, Optimum's dedicated team of engineers, supervisors and managers will be responsible for the M&E and fabric maintenance of Lloyd's Register's head office for a further five years.
Lloyd's Register is a leading global assurance business, and within this corporate setting, Optimum recognises that its team's appearance, customer care and communication skills are equally as important as their technical ability. Optimum's recruitment and staff development processes puts strong emphasis on employees' soft skills. As a result, a courteous, well-mannered team of engineers has been established at Lloyd's Register.
In tandem, Optimum has developed a comprehensive technical induction and site-specific training programme for its engineers focusing on the client's needs. This induction programme is designed to identify the development needs of each team, whilst providing career pathway options for individuals to progress. The success of this approach was evidenced during Optimum's service delivery at Lloyd's Register, when one of the on-site engineers determined the cause of an intermittent fault to the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) for the low voltage (LV) distribution. Thanks to his enhanced technical training, the engineer was able to calculate that the voltage to the PLC controller would be reduced to a limit which was likely to cause this equipment to fail. As a result, the team implemented steps to prevent Lloyd's Register from experiencing unplanned power interruptions.
By extending their partnership with Lloyd's Register, Optimum committed to continue delivering the 'Optimum Experience', built on three core behaviours: visibility, responsiveness and trust.
In addition to site-specific knowledge, technical expertise and soft skills, the 'Optimum Experience' is built on a true partnership approach that is characterised by honesty, openness and visibility from senior management.
"It gives us great pleasure to retain this contract for another five years and it's a clear indication that we are delivering top quality services. I'm particularly proud to see the benefits of our training programmes coming though as we have continuously invested in our staff development plans ranging from apprenticeships to MBAs," said Tod Harrison, Managing Director of Optimum Group Services.
