Airbus Group Environmental Management Contract
Airbus Group has awarded FCC Ámbito, a subsidiary of FCC Group, the contract for the environmental management of three new plants for Airbus Defence and Space and Airbus Operations. Two of the plants are located in the province of Madrid, in Getafe and Barajas, and another in the town of Illescas in Toledo.
The contract will be for five years, creating a backlog of 20.2 million euros.
FCC Ámbito has been providing its environmental management services in the five factories Airbus Group has in the Andalusian provinces of Seville and Cadiz since 2011. With this new contract, FCC now manages all of Airbus Group's plants in Spain.
The scope of the service entails developing support and maintenance operations for the environmental management, energy and environmental correction systems for each facility, in addition to comprehensively managing the waste they produce.
The most noteworthy criteria that led to Airbus choosing FCC Ámbito out of the eight bidding companies were:
1. The high level of knowledge that is required from service providers in the aeronautical, space and defence industry in terms of quality, safety and continuity, in which FCC Ámbito has a proven track record.
2. The provision of a thorough, reliable and competitive service.
3. Technical and innovative capability, committed resources and accumulated experience.
With this contract, FCC Ámbito strengthens its image as a benchmark collaborator in providing comprehensive environmental services to leading companies in their respective sectors, such as the aeronautical sector in this case.
