Scoring a Hat-Trick with the DCS Awards

Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and standby power systems manufacturer Riello UPS has been recognised with a DCS Award for the third year in succession. The awards celebrate excellence in the design, manufacture and supply of solutions for the UK's multi-billion pound data centre sector.

Riello UPS was selected as the winner of the Data Centre Energy Efficiency Project of the Year category following a public vote. The other finalists in the category were Romonet, EcoRacks and Kaowas.

The company previously won the Product of the Year (2017) and Data Centre Energy Efficiency Project of the Year (2016) awards at the event.

Riello UPS's 2018 nomination was for a project that reduced a client's annual electricity bill by more than £335,000, and cut carbon emissions by 72 per cent. It partnered with electrical contractor The Roseberry Group to upgrade UPS units at two data centres belonging to one of the world's largest consumer goods suppliers. Replacing the existing equipment with Riello UPS's modular Multi Power units also cut air conditioning costs by more than £226,000 and saved 1.25 kilowatt hours of energy - enough to power 316 average-sized homes for a year.
