New Elastomeric Base Sheet for Bitumen Roof Systems

Polyglass U.S.A., Inc., has unveiled a self-adhering base sheet for inclusion in low-slope bituminous roofing systems.

Manufactured to a thickness of 100 mils (2.5mm) from modified bitumen, Elastoflex SA V Plus is intended for use as a base sheet or inter-ply in high-build roof systems, and supports a total system thickness in excess of 240 mils.

A fire-rated version of the product (Elastoflex SA V Plus FR) is also being made available.

Polyglass CEO, Natalino Zanchetta, says:

"We are excited to provide a new self-adhered roofing solutions for contractors.

"Thicker membranes enable the design of highly durable roof systems that are resistant to punctures, hail, tears, and abrasion."

Bitumen membranes adhere easily to a variety of substrates, including non-primed insulation, cover boards and wooden decking, and are used around the world in roofing and waterproofing applications.
