East Dunbartonshire Council-owned Kilmardinny House has been named "Scotland’s Best Funeral Tea Venue" at this year's Scottish Funeral Awards which recognise businesses which go the extra mile to ensure customers are offered exceptional service during a difficult time.
Catering at the Grade A Listed mansion house in Bearsden which overlooks Kilmardinny Loch is provided by Elior UK under contract from East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture (EDLC) Trust.
All types of event are held at the venue, including funeral teas, weddings and corporate functions - with the location also hosting an arts centre.
Eilidh Young, sales and operations manager for Elior UK at Kilmardinny House, says: “It is a privilege to provide the hospitality services for funerals at Kilmardinny House.
A funeral reception is such a significant occasion so it is critical that we deliver a service that is just right for the family.
We manage around two to three funeral receptions each week and work closely with our chefs to ensure that each event is individual and exactly the type of event that those hosting the funeral want to honour their loved ones.” The Scottish Funeral Awards, hosted by presenter Greg Summers, took place on 30th October at the Glasgow Marriott Hotel.
