Prestigious UK Golf Club Upgrades Fire System
Notts Golf Club, also known as Hollinwell, has enhanced its fire protection with the installation of over 100 wireless fire devices.
The Nottinghamshire-based club has been located at its current site since 1901 and is one of the UK's top 50 golf courses.
Its historic buildings once hosted many famous players, including Enid Wilson, a pioneering women’s golfer and a three-time winner of the British Ladies Amateur Golf Championship.
The installation process proved challenging due to the age and traditional features of the buildings on-site.
However, Head of Fire at PWP Fire & Security, Gavin Clarke, says "Working closely with the Hyfire team, we were able to specify a system that was installed in record time, with almost zero impact on the original staircases, ornate ceilings and cornices of the Hollinwell clubhouse."
The Hyfire's Taurus wireless solution selected for the project provided a viable alternative to the traditional wired system, and Chris McGregor, the manufacturer's Regional Sales Manager for the East of England and Ireland, comments: "With fire installers under pressure to deliver systems more quickly and efficiently than ever before, wireless is rapidly becoming the default choice."
Hollinwell is a busy golf club, and with members playing and socializing, it was crucial to ensure that the replacement of the fire system was as smooth as possible.
David Holmes, General Manager at Hollinwell, expresses his satisfaction with the new fire system.
He says: "So far, we have been very impressed with the performance and reliability.
Developed in Trieste, Italy, the wireless Taurus range features Pathfinder Technology, allowing the devices to communicate over 1km point to point in open air, and further where expansion hops are used.
Hyfire says its antenna technology has been optimised to accept communication across different frequencies and environments.
