'New Horizons', enfinium's latest report on progress it is making with Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), confirms the energy-from-waste provider eliminated carbon emissions totalling 498,382 tCO2e* in the United Kingdom last year.
Reductions in 2020 were achieved predominantly by diverting waste from landfill, electricity generation, industrial heat offtake, metals recovery and materials recycling.
The company also reports more than doubling its supply of steam to 432,413 tonnes (2021: 201,735), and supporting significant reductions in natural gas consumption by offtake partner, and paper mill operator, DS Smith.
enfinium was highly commended at the RoSPA safety awards and has also extended a commitment to supporting biodiversity after submitting all sites it operates at to independent scrutiny from a team of ecologists who undertook biodiversity and noise assessments.
