Safe and Secure Community Regeneration
The G4S Fire and Security team has joined forces with award-winning building services contractor, Briggs & Forrester, on three significant real estate projects across the UK.
The Cocoa Works in York, 135 Park Street in London, and Phoenix in Leeds are key developments that encompass residential, office, and retail spaces, with a strong focus on sustainability and urban regeneration.
Working in alignment with these objectives, G4S has been chosen as the systems provider responsible for supplying and installing fire and life safety systems for all three projects, as well as ensuring security for The Cocoa Works and Phoenix.
Although G4S is often associated with providing security officers and safety systems for high-security or mission-critical sites, G4S Fire and Security Systems possess the expertise to support construction projects of various types.
The regeneration of the iconic Rowntree factory, known as The Cocoa Works in York, involves the transformation of the 1890s building into 279 luxury apartments.
The design incorporates modern community spaces and beautifully landscaped gardens, while preserving the historical features that make the building unique.
G4S will contribute to creating a safe environment by providing a Honeywell GENT fire detection system, an assisted toilet system, an access control platform to manage key areas, and a video surveillance platform with video intercoms to ensure resident security.
Situated in London, 135 Park Street is a new 12-storey building spanning 148,486 square feet, with 131,900 square feet dedicated to office space, 12,900 square feet for affordable workspaces, and an additional 1,500 square feet for retail.
The partnership between G4S Fire and Security and Briggs & Forrester showcases our dedication to safety and sustainability in modern building development.
G4S will support this initiative by providing Honeywell GENT fire and communication systems, along with a Baldwin Boxall refuge system and a C-Tec assisted toilet.
Phoenix, a striking new luxury residential building in Leeds, is set to become the fourth tallest residential tower in the city, boasting 367 luxury apartments.
G4S will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of the residents by providing fire detection systems, refuge areas, and assisted toilets.
Additionally, G4S will implement access control, surveillance, door monitoring, and intercom systems.
Steve Leader, Head of M&E Projects for G4S, comments, "The partnership between G4S Fire and Security and Briggs & Forrester showcases our dedication to safety and sustainability in modern building development.
