Salix Finance has appointed Emma Clancy to succeed Annie Shepperd OBE as its new chief executive with responsibility for overseeing delivery of energy-efficient public buildings and social housing as part of the UK’s net zero agenda.
Clancy will take the reins at the non-departmental public body which is wholly owned by the Government of the United Kingdom from mid-October after joining from The Consumer Council for Water (CCW), where she has championed the needs of people in the water sector for the last three years.
Before her role at CCW, she worked for global buildings products manufacturer BMI where she was a Director of Care, and as CEO of Certsure LLP – the leading voluntary regulatory body in the electrical contracting and energy sector focused on raising standards.
Clancy was previously Chair of the Building Regulations Advisory Committee.
With a strong track record delivering across a range of sectors including construction, building regulations and not-for-profit organisations, Clancy will take up the new role at a time of unparalleled change to meet the pressing need to decarbonise public sector estates.

Salix administers funds on behalf of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, the Welsh and Scottish Governments and the Scottish Funding Council. also supporting public sector organisations with reduce their carbon emissions to support the government’s commitment to become net-zero by 2050.
The organisation has also been appointed as the delivery agent for the next wave of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund and Home Upgrade Grant to manage the schemes on behalf of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.
