European EV charging company Mer is assisting The Automobile Association as it decarbonises its business.
The AA is switching selected patrol vans to EVs which are parked overnight at drivers’ homes and turned to Mer to install reliable and user-friendly home charging infrastructure that would be compatible with Mina Homecharge, a software platform which ensures employees don’t pay for charging work vehicles at home by billing their employer directly.
Simon Ungless, group fleet manager for the AA, explains: “For our roll-out of electric patrol vans we needed a partner who could make the entire process simple and hassle-free for our drivers.
Mer is able to provide an end-to-end solution, from procurement and installation to service and repair.
Every installation to date, including my own, has been very smooth and straightforward.”

The 7kW charger installations now enable AA van drivers to recharge vehicles overnight, also providing access to Mer’s public charging network via a dedicated app.
