DIO Extends RAF Mildenhal IFM Contract

The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) has extended the integrated facilities management contract it awarded Mitie at RAF Mildenhall in 2022 by a further two years.

Mitie currently provides critical services, including facilities management, engineering, maintenance and repair at the Royal Air Force station near Mildenhall in Suffolk which supports United States Air Force operations and is home to the 100th Air Refueling Wing - a major air refuelling hub supporting US and NATO aircraft.

Mitie is responsible for the upkeep of the site, which is used by visiting personnel and their families, and upgrades across critical building infrastructure.

The DIO is the the operating arm of the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD), with the facility services provider supporting the MOD in achieving its net zero goals by installing EV charging points under the contract extension.

Currently, 98 per cent of the vehicles on site are electric.
