CIRCOR's Weihai Facility Excels in Internal Audit
Flow control solutions manufacturer CIRCOR International has accredited its Weihai facility in Shandong, China with CIRCOR Operating System (COS) 'Gold' certification following an extensive internal audit.
Certification signifies the plant has met, and sustained, exceptional performance standards across eight critical metrics: safety, on-time delivery, quality, cost of poor quality (COPQ), inventory, productivity, talent development and market feedback analysis.
CIRCOR International President and CEO Tony Najjar, SVP/GM Industrial Pumps EMEA & APAC Daniel Stirpe, and Weihai dignitaries Brian Chen and Wang Jing participated in a number of events to celebrate the accomplishment, including a presentation ceremony for the certificate led by Michael Loos, Senior Director of Quality & CI.
The journey to certification was shared by Jing, highlighting the dedication and hard work involved, with the event concluding with the presentation of gifts to employees.
Najjar tells FM Magazine: "The CIRCOR Operating System (COS) is our foundational methodology for achieving operational excellence.
It is designed to deliver tangible benefits to our customers, our industry, our global infrastructure, our businesses, and our employees.
"The Weihai facility's achievement of COS Gold certification reflects the passion and hard work of our teams.
Their dedication to continuous improvement and operational excellence is exemplary.
Our Weihai facility's success story is a powerful example of what can be achieved through teamwork, leadership, and a relentless focus on operational excellence.
"We are proud of their accomplishments and look forward to their continued contributions to CIRCOR's global success"
Weihai's journey to Gold certification began with achieving COS Silver status in 2021, just a year after the facility's official opening, with its rapid progression to Gold status confirming the leadership team's implementation of robust operational processes.
CIRCOR's COS framework is an integral part of the manufacturer's strategy to foster a culture of excellence and accountability.
It involves a rigorous, phased approach where facilities progress through Bronze and Silver certifications before achieving Gold.
This structured journey ensures that all aspects of the operation are optimized for efficiency, reliability, and lean manufacturing principles.
