Supporting Female Grassroots Football

WP Group has assumed the headline sponsorship of Women & Girls' Football at Hampshire Football Association for the 2025/26 season, with a focus on supporting the association to develop more pathways into the grassroots game for players, coaches and referees.

The new partnership will support key Hampshire FA initiatives, including the Women's PlayOn League, the Female Referee Development Programme and the Female Coaches' Community - as well as introduce two new women & girls' awards for the 2025/26 season.

Football has this amazing ability to bring people together

WP Group also supports Southampton FC Women, with a Fuelling the Game campaign encouraging greater grassroots female participation in the sport.

"Football has this amazing ability to bring people together," explains Melanie Brown, Sales Operations Manager at WP Group. "It's about teamwork, confidence, and community - values that mean a lot to us at WP Group. Through Fuelling the Game, we're proud to play our part in helping women and girls take their next step in football, while continuing to promote a more sustainable future".

"We're thrilled to welcome WP Group as our new Headline Sponsor for Women & Girls' Football," says Isabella Pearson, Commercial Manager at Hampshire FA. "Their passion for supporting the women's game really shines through, and their focus on sustainability gives this partnership an extra purpose. Together, we can make a real difference for female players, coaches and referees across the county, supported by our very own Female Pathway Development Officer that is spearheading this work for women & girls' football in Hampshire".

"It's fantastic to see dedicated investment focused solely on the women and girls' game. The game has reached new heights in recent years, spurred on by the Lionesses' success in major tournaments. However, it's important we build on this momentum and strive to achieve an equal game where opportunities in all aspects of football are accessible for women and girls. This partnership with WP group will play a huge role in driving progress across the grassroots game for women and girls in Hampshire" adds Lily West, Hampshire FA Female Football Development Officer.
