Quayclean Awarded Queensland Country Bank Stadium Contract
Quayclean Australia has been awarded the cleaning contract for the 25,000-seat capacity Queensland Country Bank Stadium in Townsville, the home ground of the North Queensland Cowboys, with bump-in operations underway in advance of the professional rugby league football club's first game of 2026 against the Gold Coast Titans on 22 March.
The contract extends the total number of National Rugby League (NRL) venues managed by the cleaning contractor to ten, with Country Bank Stadium joining Accor Stadium, Allianz Stadium, CommBank Stadium and Jubilee Stadium in Sydney, Cbus Super Stadium on the Gold Coast, MacDonald Jones Stadium in Newcastle, WIN Stadium in Wollongong, GIO Stadium in Canberra and AAMI Park in Melbourne.
Quayclean is synonymous with sustainability and industry leading waste management strategies and we will collaborate with the Stadium operators and stakeholders to achieve a year-on-year reduction in total tonnes of waste generated on-site, and ensure more than 85 per cent of total waste generated is sent for reuse, recycling, or repurposing...
In addition to hosting NRL fixtures, Queensland Country Bank Stadium is also a major outdoor concert venue, and has previously welcomed performances by P!nk, The Killers, Jelly Roll and Elton John.
The win in Queensland further expands Quayclean's footprint in the state, where its non-stadium portolio includes University of Queensland campus sites in Brisbane, and across regional and remote locations, following a contract award in 2025.
Quayclean Chief Executive, Mark Piwkowski, tells FM Magazine: "We have a reputation as an industry leader in the provision of high-quality cleaning and waste management services for large-scale operations, and we understand the skills required to manage a stadium which hosts over 300,000 patrons every year.
"Quayclean is synonymous with sustainability and industry leading waste management strategies and we will collaborate with the Stadium operators and stakeholders to achieve a year-on-year reduction in total tonnes of waste generated on-site, and ensure more than 85 per cent of total waste generated is sent for reuse, recycling, or repurposing, and maximise community engagement and knowledge.
"By providing tailored, detailed insights into waste generation and disposal patterns, we can identify specific areas for improvement and implement targeted strategies and ensure compliance with the stadium's sustainability goals and regulations."
