STRABAG PFS Wins Technical Operations Contract for German Aerospace Centre
STRABAG Property and Facility Services has taken over technical operations at the high-tech hubs of the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) in Oberpfaffenhofen and Augsburg.
The contract award builds on STRABAG PFS's existing portfolio managing high-availability environments for the banking and data centre sectors, where system uptime is the primary KPI.
Mission-Critical Technical Services
The scope focuses on the seamless operation of complex plant and machinery across two of Germany's most sensitive research sites. At Oberpfaffenhofen-a major hub for robotics, earth observation, and space flight-the requirement is for a fail-safe, precisely monitored infrastructure that supports high-stakes research.
Digital Strategy and Energy Performance
A determining factor in the decision by the DLR to the award the contract was a novel service delivery model that moves beyond traditional maintenance by integrating STRABAG PFS's eco2state solution.
The solution prioritises:
- Data-Driven Maintenance: Using digital control technology to prevent faults before they occur.
- Operational AI: Implementing AI tools to manage building systems in real-time based on live data.
- Energy Retrofitting: Conducting building audits and executing technical upgrades to cut carbon and improve efficiency.
