A Digital Technology Leader

Mitie's Mozaic analytics portal has been selected as "Big Data/IoT Project of the Year" at Computing's 2020 Digital Technology Leaders Awards.

The award is one of several the company has received in recent months for its application of technology within facilities management, with the others including Verdantix Smart Building Innovation Awards (Big Data / IoT Project of the Year) for its Connected Workspace solution, the UK Digital Experience Awards (Best Website), and two Real IT Awards – with Mozaic been selected as the winner in the 'Turning Data into Insight' category and Mitie's chatbot, ESME, chosen as the winning entry in the 'Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning Project of the Year’ category.

The Digital Technology Leaders Award recognises individuals and teams developing innovative solutions in three areas, namely, people, society and businesses.

With submissions from leading UK businesses, charities and Government bodies, the award category recognises organisations that are best embedding Internet of Things (IoT) technology in their products and business activities.

Mitie's online facilities management analytics portal, Mozaic, serves as a "one-stop-shop" for clients to access comprehensive data about their sites.

Users can access real-time data on how efficiently space is being used on site, as well as how the buildings’ equipment, including boilers and HVAC, is performing.

By using Mozaic, customers can also raise issues and track the progress of the repair and maintenance work carried out by Mitie engineers on-site.

Mozaic then notifies the user once the task has been completed, keeping a detailed activity log to improve visibility throughout the contract.

Chief Technology and Information Officer, Cijo Joseph, says: "We are very proud to receive this award which is a recognition of our efforts to transform Mitie’s IT and become sector leaders in technology-led FM.

"We’re committed to developing technology solutions that deliver value for our clients and winning five awards, in such a short time, shows that this is exactly what we’re doing."

Other award winners included AXA, Publicis Sapient (jointly with Lloyds Banking Group), and LogicMonitor (with Ted Baker).
