Supporting End-to-End Resource Management
Veolia's new e-commerce solution is believed to be the first in the resource management sector to enable business customers to request quotes, and order products and services online.
The online system enables customers to process quotes, convert it to an order, and receive an invoice when the service is delivered.
By utilising the latest eContract functionality customers can also Agree & Accept the service agreements online.
The service also provides new customers access to the Veolia products and specialist services that are available to them, and gives the latest tailored pricing information, based on their location.
Other capabilities include customer access to their invoice documents via their online account.
Stuart Stock, Chief Information Officer for Veolia UK & Ireland, comments: "Our continuing application of the latest digital technologies means we deliver ever more efficient services, and maximise recycling and the use of resources as we continue to transform the resource industry.
"This also contributes to lowering carbon emissions, an important step on the path to net zero."
As part of an initiative to improve recycling rates and service efficiency and advance the use of digital technologies, Veolia has previously piloted the virtual voice assistants/smart speakers feature known as Nvirobot, and designed smart waste collection solutions including electronic sensors and automating material collection and sorting processes.
In this way the company has developed smart solutions capable of improving waste flow and helps businesses to recover more materials.
Other digital innovations that are transforming the waste and resources industry include new efficient routing based on road network aims to reduce collection route miles and avoid traffic sensitive areas to help ease congestion during collection times.
