Logistics UK Announces Senior Appointments

Logistics UK has named James Adcroft, UK Transport Compliance Manager at Tesco, as Chair of its national Road Freight Council and elected several senior representatives from the logistics and transport sectors to its Board.

Adcroft succeeds former Chair, Allison Kemp MBE – managing director of A.I.M Commercial Services – who joined initially for a two-year term which was extended to almost four years following the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ms Kemp, the first female holder of the position who was also awarded an MBE for services to road freight and transport whilst serving as Chair, says: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as Chair, tackling some of the biggest industry issues of this generation and helping to guide our road freight members through the challenges of the pandemic.

These Freight Councils are an invaluable resource and allow members to raise concerns and discuss potential solutions to the challenges that matter.

I am grateful for this opportunity and wish Mr Adcroft every success as he takes over the position.”

Adcroft adds: “I am delighted to be announced as the new Chair of Logistics UK’s Road Freight Council.

These Freight Councils are a vital opportunity for members to meet with fellow operators and Logistics UK representatives to discuss the challenges and needs of industry, which can then be represented at a higher level.

I look forward to contributing to the continued success of these councils and ensuring industry’s voice is heard.”

Louisa Hosegood, strategy and transformation director at Bis Henderson, Simon Hobbs, CEO of Kinaxia Logistics, and Gavin Murdock, managing director of Network Transport Solutions at DHL Supply Chain UKI join the Logistics UK Board.

As Strategy and Transformation Director for Bis Henderson Group, Hosegood has amassed extensive experience in senior roles with John Lewis Partnership, Marks & Spencer and Tesco PLC.

She is passionate about 'fit-for-future' joined up supply chains, and is currently central to developing innovative, customer-centric services across the Bis Henderson’s consulting, warehousing space and recruitment businesses.

Of her appointment, she says: “I am excited to be part of an important phase of growth for Logistics UK – at a time when it has never been more important for the views and insights of its membership to be heard.”
