Sustaining Success

EMCOR UK's inaugural sustainability report highlights progress with environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives.

Throughout the report, the company's commitment to creating a better world at work is evident, as it focuses on three key areas: people, planet, and partners.

Employee policies include ensuring all staff are paid the Real Living Wage or above.

Additionally, over 700 employees in lower pay grades received a special one-off £200 cost of living payment during the Christmas period.

EMCOR UK's Salary Finance Scheme has benefited 577 employees, empowering them to consolidate and reduce debts, resulting in average savings of £433 per employee.

"There is a lot for us to be proud of in this report, and our successes are down to every single person at EMCOR UK.

Sustainability is a wide-ranging term and is not something that can be delivered in a top-down approach.

We're all pulling in the same direction, as evidenced by our employee engagement score rising by 10 per cent in our annual EMCOR UK Voice survey.

I firmly believe that we have the team in place to meet our objectives and help embed sustainability in every facet of our business

EMCOR UK's path to net zero emissions is a top priority in its sustainable journey.

The company reports progress in reducing emissions to 2,134 tCO2e in 2022 from 3,398 tCO2e in 2019.

As part of its further ambition to tackle Scope 3 emissions, the company plans to collaborate with a specialised FM environmental consultancy, further solidifying its commitment to sustainability.

Science-Based Targets will be set to drive further progress in this area.

Partnerships play a pivotal role in EMCOR UK's sustainability objectives, with the facility services provider collaborating with community projects and national procurement frameworks to create meaningful impacts.

Notably, an event for 100 suppliers that discussed equality, diversity and inclusion (ED&I), employee wellbeing, and net zero, is set to become an annual fixture.
