Daikin Europe Expands Heat Pump Range
Daikin Europe has added Altherma 3 R MT, a mid-temperature refrigerant split heat pump replacement for fossil fuel boilers, to its Altherma 3 range.
The company says the new product will replace its existing Daikin Altherma HT which when launched in 2008 was the first high-temperature heat pump that allowed full replacement of a fossil fuel heating system.
The Daikin Altherma 3 R MT can provide a leaving water temperature of up to 65°C, which is effective enough to heat older houses with existing radiators.
On the performance level, the heat pump shows impressive results, even during winter.
The unit works perfectly even down to an outside temperature of -25°C and can also provide a leaving water temperature (LWT) up to 65°C at an outside temperature of -15°C, by relying on heat pump operation only.
The new product is described as operating 'silently' at a sound level of 35 dBA in low sound mode at a distance of 3 metres (which is comparable to being in a library).
It achieves up to an A+++ space heating energy label, and an A+ (the maximum) in domestic hot water.
