Government Recognition for Yokohama TWS Sri Lanka
Yokohama TWS Sri Lanka has received an award in the 'Best Exporter in the Dry Rubber Products' category of Sri Lanka's Presidential Export Awards for a second consecutive year.
Part of The Yokohama Rubber Company which employs over 6,600 people in 42 countries and generated sales of over € 1.2 billion in 2022, Yokohama TWS Sri Lanka's tyre and wheel solutions drive a sustainable future for agriculture, construction, material handling and two-wheeler markets alongside sister brands, Trelleborg, Mitas, Maximo, Cultor and Interfit.
The Presidential Export Awards (PEA) acknowledge exporters who foster growth and contribute significantly to Sri Lanka's economy.
Sanjay Melvani, Yokohama TWS Sri Lanka managing director, says: "We are incredibly proud to receive the 'Best Exporter Award' in recognition of our unwavering commitment to boosting our country's exports, especially during this unprecedented period of social, political, and financial uncertainty.
"Despite facing challenges, winning the award for two consecutive financial years in the Dry Rubber Products Category highlights the drive and hard work of our team.
I am grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact on Sri Lanka's economy through our business operations.
A panel headed by a retired Sri Lanka's Supreme Court Judge evaluated this year's entrants for the PEA awards against multiple criteria, including export turnover, export proceeds repatriation, net-foreign exchange earnings, market diversification, product diversification, "value addition", innovation and export (transport) sustainability.
