SFG20, the UK industry standard for building maintenance, will introduce Facilities-iQ, a smart software platform building on a thirty-year record of supporting regulatory compliance on Wednesday 31st January.
Improving auditing and collaboration between building owners, managers, maintenance teams, contractors and consultants, the new solution allows users to stay ahead of regulatory changes, and manage financial and technical risks without disrupting routine building maintenance activities.
Dedicated content on the new platform will help FM professionals balance the need for compliance against the demands of critical business processes.
The launch has been guided by findings from surveys in which FM professionals shared the unprecedented challenges they are experiencing as a result of a barrage of new legislation in the United Kingdom.
The Fire Safety Act 2021, The Building Safety Act 2022, and the Fire Safety Regulations (England) 2022 are just three examples of how legislation has shifted priorities and responsibilities for everyone involved in the maintenance of built assets.
Users will be able to tailor SFG20 content to suit the unique needs of their facility, whilst benefiting from automated update notifications whenever content is updated to align with changes to the regulatory landscape - additionally allowing them to update the platform's library of best practices and compliance information with their own unique knowledge of a site and its assets.
Combining best practices with site-specific data will allow FMs to target resources (including external contractors) more accurately and minimise costs.
Facilities-iQ is the latest innovation from SFG20 which was launched in 1990 by the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) as the UK industry standard for maintenance specifications.
SFG20 provides access to a library of over 2000 maintenance schedules that update dynamically to reflect changes in legislation and health and safety regulations - allowing facilities managers to customise their maintenance schedules and remain compliant.
