Compass Joins Youth Employability Initiative
Compass Group UK & Ireland has joined the ‘YouthPath’ initiative from Movement to Work which empowers young people facing barriers to work in the West Midlands.
As a YouthPath partner, Compass will help unlock potential and provide the vital stepping stones needed to get young people into meaningful careers.
Together, Movement to Work and Compass will focus on creating work placements and employability opportunities.
This partnership will help build confidence, develop vital skills, and unlock potential — empowering young people to take their first steps into the world of work.
The collaboration represents an exciting step forward in expanding access to career pathways in hospitality and beyond, particularly for those facing the greatest challenges in entering the workforce.
It additionally supports an ongoing commitment from Compass to create inclusive opportunities for young people who are currently not in education, employment or training (NEET).
Movement to Work CEO, Sareena Bains, says: “We’re proud to partner with Compass – a forward-thinking employer that truly champions young people’s potential.
By joining YouthPath, we’re widening our reach, to those who need support the most and helping them unlock a brighter future through skills, confidence, and opportunity.
Their commitment to YouthPath reflects a shared vision of a more inclusive and accessible future of work.
"On my visit to their Xcelerate facility, I was inspired by the energy, purpose, and real impact they’re creating – empowering young people with the skills and confidence to thrive in hospitality.”
Jonathan Foot, Director of Skills and Early Careers, Compass Group UK & Ireland, adds: “We are committed to providing opportunities for all.
"By joining YouthPath, we’re widening our reach, to those who need support the most and helping them unlock a brighter future through skills, confidence, and opportunity.”
Compass is committed to developing talent through its Our Social Promise – which aims to positively impact one million lives by 2030.
As part of this promise in 2024, the catering and foodservice company launched Xcelerate with Edgbaston at the iconic Edgbaston Stadium: a cutting-edge facility equipped with professional kitchens, bars, and front-of-house spaces to provide an immersive environment where young people gain practical, real-world experience, and access to exciting careers in the hospitality industry.
