Herefordshire Council Awards Highways Engineering Contract to AtkinsRéalis
Herefordshire Council has appointed AtkinsRéalis as its exclusive provider of professional engineering services for highways and infrastructure projects.
Under the agreement, AtkinsRéalis will deliver a comprehensive range of services including highway and active travel design, bridge inspections, flood modelling, and environmental and heritage assessments. The scope also encompasses project management, transport planning, and consultancy support for major infrastructure schemes.
Our commitment to developing the partnership was key to our appointment in this role, which represents a fantastic opportunity to bring our multidisciplinary expertise to Herefordshire to support the council's ambitions for sustainable growth and improved transport infrastructure.
The five year contract will draw widely on capabilities from across the AtkinsRéalis business as part of its integrated end-to-end service, cementing its position as a trusted partner working alongside Herefordshire Council.

The contract award followed a competitive tender process which highlighted AtkinsRéalis' commitment to delivering efficiencies and continuous improvement in addition to demonstrating strong social value credentials, including commitments to local employment, apprenticeships and community engagement. .
The contract will be delivered by teams based in the region and builds on similar successful highways and infrastructure alliances and partnerships with local authorities including Wiltshire, Buckinghamshire and Surrey councils.
