World's Largest Furniture Event Underway in Guangzhou

The 57th edition of the China International Furniture Fair (CIFF Guangzhou) opened on 18 March at the Canton Fair Complex in Pazhou, Guangzhou.

Phase 1 of the event which concludes on 21 March focuses on home furniture, home décor and textiles until 21 March. Phase 2 from 28-31 March will cover office furniture, commercial and hospitality interiors, furniture machinery and raw materials.

The exhibition spans approximately 850,000 square metres across 90 halls and is expected to host more than 5,100 exhibitors.

Scale and positioning

CIFF Guangzhou 2026 continues to position itself as a large-scale international platform for the furniture industry, combining product exhibition with supply chain integration and industry engagement. The event's scope reflects both the breadth of the sector and the increasing interdependence between design, manufacturing and distribution.

Organisers have framed this year's edition around the theme "Connect Create", signalling a continued emphasis on collaboration, innovation and market development.

Line-up expansion

The 2026 edition includes 1,582 new exhibitors, representing just under one-third of total participants. This reflects ongoing turnover within the sector, as well as the continued ability of the fair to attract new entrants across multiple categories.

Within the Home Furniture exhibition, a mix of commercial design brands and upholstery manufacturers will be represented, alongside a large cohort of dining and living furniture producers. In parallel, the Office & Commercial Space and CIFM/interzum guangzhou sections will include a number of internationally recognised companies, highlighting the event's global reach across both finished products and industrial supply chains.

Sector developments and new themes

In response to changing consumer expectations and demographic trends, the Home Furniture exhibition introduces several thematic areas, including Healthy Ageing, Pet Home, functional seating and new retail concepts. These zones reflect broader shifts in residential design, with increasing focus on wellbeing, accessibility and lifestyle integration.

Dedicated exhibitions will explore senior-oriented living solutions and pet-related products, alongside technology-enabled furniture and evolving retail formats aimed at younger consumer groups. Together, these areas indicate how product development is aligning with longer-term structural changes in how domestic environments are used.

The Office & Commercial Space exhibition also expands its focus on smart office and healthcare environments, reflecting continued evolution in workplace design and operational requirements.

An integrated exhibition ecosystem

CIFF Guangzhou 2026 is organised across three principal exhibitions: Home Furniture, Office & Commercial Space, and CIFM/interzum guangzhou. Collectively, these segments present a vertically integrated view of the industry, from finished furniture through to machinery, materials and component systems.

The Home Furniture phase occupies approximately 430,000 square metres and includes sectors such as contemporary design, upholstered furniture, dining and living, home décor and outdoor furniture. The Office & Commercial Space exhibition covers around 240,000 square metres, while CIFM/interzum guangzhou spans 170,000 square metres, focusing on production technologies and supply-side innovation.

Design and innovation

Design remains a central component of the exhibition's positioning. The 2026 edition brings together more than 200 design-led brands and includes a programme of thematic exhibitions addressing topics such as artificial intelligence, sustainability and emerging lifestyle concepts.

A cluster of design-focused halls provides a dedicated space for exploring the relationship between creativity and industrial application, while associated awards programmes aim to connect design innovation with commercial outcomes.

International reach and connectivity

CIFF Guangzhou continues to expand its international engagement through a combination of overseas promotion, digital outreach and industry networking initiatives. Marketing activities across multiple countries, alongside digital platforms reaching a broad global audience, support the event's positioning as an international meeting point for the furniture sector.

Additional programmes focus on designers, buyers and retail communities are intended to facilitate connections across the value chain, while digital tools such as navigation systems and exhibitor platforms are designed to enhance visitor experience and business matching.

Industry outlook

Across its scale, sector coverage and programme development, CIFF Guangzhou 2026 reflects an industry that is continuing to adapt to changing market conditions. The integration of design, manufacturing and distribution, alongside the emergence of new product categories and user needs, underscores the evolving nature of the global furniture landscape.

By convening stakeholders across residential, office and commercial interiors, the event provides a structured environment for assessing these developments and their implications for future growth.
