Novel Rentokil Pest Control Solution Stops Rodent Entry Through Air Bricks and Vents

Rentokil Pest Control has launched an innovative proofing solution to prevent rodents from entering buildings through air bricks, vents and HVAC outlets - common access points that effectively act as open invitations.

Designed for commercial as well as residential environments, Flexi Armour Vent is the latest addition to Rentokil's Flexi Armour proofing range and offers businesses a reliable way to prevent rodent access without disrupting day-to-day operations.

The technology uses a discreet yet robust flexible knitted steel mesh combined with rubber, allowing it to adapt to uneven surfaces while remaining fully weatherproof. Its design forms a physical barrier that prevents rodent entry.

Quick to install with a no-drilling design that minimises disruption and avoids damage to the property's brickwork or structure, the permeable mesh ensures essential airflow to the building is maintained, making it suitable for use across a wide range of property types.

Paul Blackhurst, Head of Technical Academy at Rentokil Initial, comments: "The Flexi Armour range and our new Flexi Armour Vent addition mark a shift in how we approach rodent control. Rather than relying on reactive treatments, the focus is on intelligent proofing that stops pests from gaining access in the first place. This launch reflects our continued investment in innovation, expanding our proofing technologies to help customers stay one step ahead of infestations.

"As part of our Flexi Armour range, this solution creates a durable, adaptable barrier across multiple entry points, including air bricks and vents. By preventing access before it becomes a problem, it helps protect buildings, reduce risk and avoid the significant operational and reputational damage rodents can cause."

According to an analysis of year-on-year data reported by frontline Rentokil Pest Control colleagues, confirmed rodent activity increased by 10 per cent from 2024 to 2025, reinforcing the need for proactive solutions to stop rodents from entering buildings.
