Iconic Construction Management Contract for AFG

Prominent woman-owned construction and relocation management firm, AFG Group, Inc. (AFG), has recently been awarded a contract at the Washington, D.C. headquarters of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) by the Robert C. Weaver Building Fire Alarm Replacement Project.

Steeped in History

Listed on the National Register of Historic Buildings, the 1,372,300 gross-square-foot (GSF) 13-storey Weaver Federal Building stands out as one of the most successful buildings in the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) portfolio, and is part of the city's Southwest Urban Renewal Plan.

Investing in Safety Renovations

As the Construction Manager, AFG will oversee the $11 million replacement of the outdated fire alarm system, the removal of the existing system and the installation of a new emergency communication system to facilitate occupant notification and/or evacuation in the Weaver Building during an emergency.
