Chubb Honoured with Gold Occupational Health and Safety Awards

Chubb Systems has received a Gold Award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) for the sixth consecutive year at a ceremony which presented Chubb Fire & Security with its third Gold Award since 2016. The awards recognise high levels of performance by organisations with well-developed occupational health and safety management systems and cultures. Chubb, is part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

Additionally, Chubb Systems received a gold medal in recognition of consecutively achieving the top, Gold Award.

Nichola Maher, EH&S Manager, Chubb Systems, said the award and medal are testament to a sustained commitment to environment, health and safety. "We continually assess all areas of behaviour and culture to ensure environment, health and safety is at the forefront of everything we do. The RoSPA awards are an important opportunity for us to celebrate the business' achievements in ensuring employees are working to best practice safety standards."

This year, the Chubb Systems award was accepted by service engineer Ronnie Wineberg who won the business' annual Recognition award for going above and beyond in support of Chubb's health and safety practices. "Having robust health and safety practices at work is essential," said Wineberg. "As an employee, by demonstrating our commitment to these practices, we are helping to ensure that we all get home safely at the end of a shift. I was proud to collect the award in recognition of Chubb's health and safety practices and my commitment to them."

Mark Redding, head of environmental health and safety at Chubb Fire & Security, said RoSPA is extremely important to the entire business: "The awards demonstrate to outside bodies and customers Chubb's commitment to safe working practices. It is an award the whole business should take ownership of and feel proud of achieving."
