Comment on UK Lockdown

"While many organisations won't be happy with today's decision for a four-week lockdown delay, it was something to be expected with recent rising numbers of Covid cases. Although it means social distancing practices will remain in place for the time being, it does buy more time for organisations to get their health and safety procedures and policies in place. Organisations in the hospitality and entertainment sector are only starting to bring back their furloughed staff and rehiring for redundant positions, which means these employees will be out of practice. The extra time allows businesses to ensure staff are trained on social distancing measures and how to maintain cleanliness to prevent a further spread of infection. Businesses also have an opportunity to refresh training on other health and safety policies such as fire safety, spotting hazards and electrical safety. Employers and employees must understand what they're responsible for in terms of creating a safe working environment and a safe environment to welcome customers."
