International Property Show 2014 attracts 300 exhibitors from 80 countries

Confirmed exhibitors for April's event at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre up by a quarter as EC Harris forecasts 63 per cent increase in the value of the Middle East's built assets to US$ 8.7 trillion by 2022.

The organisers of the International Property Show (IPS) have announced that the event's 10th edition has attracted 300 exhibitors from 80 countries.

Co-located at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre with the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM is a forum for discussing and showcasing investment opportunities in emerging markets), IPS attracts more than 20,000 property buyers and investors from more than 120 countries annually.

Strategic Marketing & Exhibitions has disclosed that 60 per cent of exhibitors at the event will be property developers showcasing existing and new developments (12 major regional projects by prominent developers were unveiled at IPS 2013).

Exhibitors by sector: 18 per cent of exhibitors are from the hotel and leisure sector, 17 per cent from the commercial and residential property sectors, 15 per cent from commercial office space companies, 13 per cent represent retail developments; with public sector developers represented by urban development authorities (12%) and free zone authorities (10%).

Confidence in the future of the Middle East's property market is returning as the region recovers strongly from the economic downturn caused by the fallout of the global banking crisis.

In the recently published Global Built Asset Wealth Index, compilers EC Harris and the Centre for Economic and Business Research, forecast a 63 per cent increase in the value of the region's built assets to US$ 8.7 trillion by 2022. The index also makes a per capita comparison between the UAE's built asset wealth for which the figure stands at US $122,809 per person, and China's - where built assets per person are represented by a figure of US $26,000.

IPS is supported by the Dubai Land Department and sponsored by more than 80 media partners.

His Excellency Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director General of the Dubai Land Department, describes the event as an ideal platform for developers, real estate brokers, private and institutional investors, and major local and international real estate companies. Of the UAE, he says: "the investments being made by local and regional companies in the development of infrastructure are among the largest not only in the MENA region but also globally".

Dawood Al Shezawi, CEO, Strategic Marketing & Exhibitions says there is "growing interest" in the show from real-estate developers internationally and adds: "we are ready for an extraordinary show in April. We have received encouraging feedback that points to a great show. The UAE real estate market is attracting international companies and service providers that are keen to expand presence in the region".
