RICS Membership Training for IMF's FM Staff
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) have signed a training agreement that will result in RICS membership for the IMF's facilities management staff.
The 20 professional staff members will work toward a six-month distance learning certificate, as well as take a number of face-to-face and webinar classes, with the aim of helping them adapt to the division's changing needs and enable them to qualify for RICS membership.
RICS is an international organization that promotes and enforces the highest professional qualifications and standards in the development and management of land, real estate, property and construction. It identifies and disseminates best practices and thought leadership across the real estate lifecycle - for example, its "Raising the Bar" research aimed at enhancing the strategic role of facilities management; its participation in international coalitions to develop International Property Measurement Standards and International Construction Measurement Standards; and its partnership with the National Institute for Building Sciences, a leader in the built environment, on issues such as P3 and high-performance buildings.
