Avinor Oslo Airport Partnership
Avinor Oslo Airport has extended and expanded the scope of its partnership with ISS Norway with a new contract that includes additional responsibility for handling lost goods, baggage trolleys and assisting passengers with their journeys.
Prior to the expansion, ISS Norway maintained responsibility for all cleaning services at Avinor, which is Norway's main airport located in Oslo. As part of the new contract, ISS will now expand its service delivery to the airport considerably.
Hans Bendik Eriksen, Chief Executive Officer at Oslo Airport, said:
"ISS will contribute to making our basic product work seamlessly. The airport must be clean, trolleys must be located where users need them and they must work at all times. In addition, the assistance service is important both for customer satisfaction and for getting the aircraft ready for take-off at the scheduled time."
Increased number of ISS employees
Every year, up to 120,000 people need assistance through Oslo airport. In addition, travellers forget about 10,000 items and leave 3,500 baggage trolleys around the area, with the contract expansion, ISS Norway will assume responsibility for handling all of this.
Today, ISS has 190 employees at Oslo Airport, but with the new contract, the number of employees is expected to increase to around 390. The new contract will be fully operational by 1 September 2017 and will last six years.
"Now that we deliver multiple services, we will create a strong team, where we can complement each other across the services. We will have a host role in relation to passengers, to ensure that everyone has a positive experience travelling to and from Norway's main airport."
In competition with several other companies, ISS Norway won the tender because they could show experience from corresponding deliveries, rendering ISS' offer the most advantageous delivery comprising preferable economics, task understanding, and quality.
Hans Bendik Eriksen, Chief Executive Officer at Oslo Airport, said:
"In many cases, ISS employees are the first people our passengers meet. We are therefore dependent on ISS delivering a good quality and that the behaviour of the employees stimulate good passenger experiences."
