Highways England Appoints Kier to Regional Delivery Partnership Framework

Kier has been appointed to Highways England's £8.7 billion six-year Regional Delivery Partnership framework for Band B projects exceeding £100 million in the north region covering the north west, north east, Yorkshire and Humberside, with a total value of approximately £2 billion to be shared across the region.

Through the framework Kier will work collaboratively with Highways England and other partner organisations on the detailed design and construction of the A585 Windy Harbour to Skippool and the A5036 Port of Liverpool tranche 1 schemes (RIS 1 projects). Further capital or operations schemes will be awarded to Delivery Integration Partners based on performance on early schemes.

The new framework is set to replace the Collaborative Delivery Framework that Highways England currently operates. Under the Regional Delivery Partnership arrangement, contractors will become delivery integration partners, designing and constructing motorway and major A-road projects across England under NEC4 standard terms, with suitable amendments.

This latest win for Kier further reinforces its position as the UK's leading highways construction, management and maintenance provider and follows on from the news that Kier secured two three-year extensions to Highways England Areas 3 and 9 worth around £250 million.
