WakeCap Wins Start-up City Competition at The Big 5 2018

IoT-based enterprise solution for improving safety and productivity on construction sites, WakeCap, has today been announced as the winner of the "Start-up City Pitch" competition at the The Big 5 construction exhibition in Dubai which is organised by dmg events.

Competing with 14 other start-ups from across the globe, WakeCap was awarded a prize of US$ 25,000 by a panel of expert which included Kavya Aggarwal, Project Manager at Consolidated Contractors Company, Hana Barakat, Program Manager at StartAD, Ned Jeroudi, Senior Advisor, Innovation and Future Technology at Expo 2020 Dubai, and Tiberiu Iacomu, Founder of the Improbable Agency.

Launched on the back of a research finding that up to 98 per cent of construction projects experience cost overruns or delays as a result of to poor connectivity automation and information sharing, the WakeCap platform uses wireless mesh sensor networks embedded into existing personal safety equipment to facilitate communication across one or multiple sites.
