Aramark to Support Chilean Copper Mining Operation
Aramark will support Phase Two of Teck Resources' Quebrada Blanka copper mining operation following the award of a 27-month food and facility services contract.
Phase Two has been introduced to increase the life span of the facility which is located in the Tarapacá region of northern Chile.
Under the agreement, Aramark will provide breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack service for workers, as well as integrated facilities management services - including minor maintenance, cleaning and housekeeping, laundry and recreational management (fitness facilities, organising special events).
“We are very pleased to support this new venture by providing services to the contractors on site,” said Brent Franks, Chief Operating Officer of Aramark’s International business. “Aramark has supported Teck at Quebrada Blanca for the past 12 years and we value our long-standing partnership and the opportunity to build on our food service capabilities with additional support services during the construction phase of this new mine.”
Aramark has been supporting the Chilean mining industry for over 14 years by bringing essential services to miners operating in remote underground and open-pit mines.
