The Postal Museum Awards Hard FM Contract
Pareto FM has been selected to provide hard services at The Postal Museum's newly built facility in Clerkenwell, London.
The Postal Museum in Clerkenwell reveals five centuries of British social and communications history as seen through the eyes of its iconic postal service.
Alongside permanent exhibition galleries and a temporary exhibition space, Mail Rail – London’s century-old secret Post Office Underground Railway which opened to the public for the first time in 2017 and forms part of a subterranean ride for visitors, complete with miniature carriages, which passes through many of its original tunnels.
The museum itself has its origins in the early 20th century.
In the basements of the GPO headquarters, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II officially opened the National Postal Museum in the City of London in 1969.
Built partly to house an award-winning collection of British Victorian stamps – donated by Reginald Phillips in 1965 – the museum provided public access to its collections like never before.
In 2004, the collections were transferred by Royal Mail to a newly formed independent charity, The Postal Heritage Trust.
The new Postal Museum facility then opened in Autumn 2017.
Announcing the new contract, Tish Jayanetti, Head of Operations & Commercial at The Postal Museum, said:
