Anchoring an Historic Toronto Concert Venue
CINTEC North America has been assisting with the restoration of historic Canadian concert venue Massey Hall in downtown Toronto.
As Massey Hall marks its 125th anniversary, a century and a quarter of Canadian history has been stripped bare as part of an ambitious restoration project that will recapture the venue's original acoustic properties whilst ensuring it is around to serve audiences for generations to come.
Cintec reinforcement anchors which are used to stabilize and strengthen masonry structures without external or internal steel bracing, have been installed at the site.
The Cintec system comprises a steel section in a mesh fabric sleeve, into which a specially developed cementitious grout is injected under low pressure to create both a mechanical and cementitious bond, with a custom-designed reinforcement and anchoring system having been designed specifically for Massey Hall.
