Conquering Oil Stains on Polyester Linen
PolyVantage™ - a new commercial laundry detergent from Ecolab, features patent-pending surfactant technology to attract oils to the surface of synthetic linen.
As the food industry rapidly evolves towards a healthier and more sustainable future, the commercial laundry industry is challenged with fighting tougher stains from ingredients such as unsaturated liquid vegetable oils and effectively cleaning polyester blends.
Simultaneously, it faces challenges associated with minimising water and energy use.
Ecolab is marketing the new product as a more effective alternative to traditional, nonylphenol ethoxylate (NPE), based products at 145°F (63°C) washes, and claims the surfactant is more sustainable and achieves enhanced operational savings.
Greg Thorsen, the company's senior vice president and general manager for Textile Care in North America, explains:
"PolyVantage’s proprietary blend is the first-of-its-kind solution in the commercial laundry industry that effectively tackles tough food oil stains and delivers unparalleled linen quality."
