LIA/ICEL Emergency Luminaire Certification Scheme
In response to scrutiny of emergency lighting, The Lighting Industry Association has launched the Industry Committee for Emergency Lighting (ICEL) certification scheme for manufacturers.
The ICEL Product Endorsement scheme provides independent verification that emergency lighting products have been been developed and manufactured using controlled processes in accordance with applicable safety directives and standards.
Administrated by the LIA Compliance Team, all approved products will be listed on the ICEL Product Endorsement Scheme register.
These products will also be entitled to use a special mark to indicate the endorsement and a strict process of annual audits will ensure products maintain their status.
UK-based Emergency Lighting Products Ltd, has already achieved certification of its Escape/Exit Luminaire range under the scheme, and been admitted to a dedicated register published at http://lialabcert.org.uk/icel-scheme-products. Managing director, David Wright, says: "Emergency Lighting Products Limited are very proud to receive official ICEL Endorsement of our first range of twelve emergency lighting luminaires.
