Sodexo to Standardise Staff Benefits Globally
Sodexo is claiming a first for the foodservice and facility services sector following its launch of a common programme of minimum employee benefits across 53 countries.
Furthering the company's commitment to “Create a better every day for everyone to build a better life for all”, Vita by Sodexo standardises provision of parental benefits and care leave for eligible staff, also providing 12 months' life insurance to support family dependents in the event of an employee passing,
Building on measures implemented across the group since 2015 and during the Covid-19 pandemic, Sodexo is also launching a telephone support service with 24/7 operation to provide staff access to practical advice, guidance and counselling.
The parental benefits component of the initiative will allow primary carers to take a minimum of 12 weeks' paid leave (which Sodexo aims to extend to 14 weeks in most countries), with 2 weeks' paid leave available to secondary carers.
Five days of paid leave are being introduced to support employees caring for children, relatives or partners.
The terms and conditions of these benefits will be published in an official plan, together with policy documents for each country and employing entity, subject to local regulations; with Sodexo anticipating 60 per cent of the programme will be implemented by the end of 2024.
Employees wellbeing matters and means a great deal to us, and we give it the full attention and priority it deserves.
Annick de Vanssay, Chief Human Resources Officer, Sodexo Group, comments:
