Student-run Coffee Shop Opens in Wisconsin

The Bulldog Café, a student-run coffee shop offering beverages, baked goods, and other items under the National School Lunch Program, has opened at Wisconsin’s Cedarburg High School.

Named after the school's mascot, the cafeteria creates an additional community space. Aramark Student Nutrition has been the Cedarburg School District's foodservice partner for more than 30 years.

“We are thrilled about the opening of the Bulldog Café,” says Casey Bowe, Cedarburg High School Principal. “It has taken us a while to reach this point and I want to express my gratitude to everyone for their unwavering commitment, vision, and support in making this happen.”

Cedarburg students have been involved in everything from the naming of the space to input on the menu offerings.

The Bulldog Café will feature Aramark Java City Coffee items, including made-to-order beverages, freshly baked pastries, sandwiches, and snacks.

Students participating in Cedarburg School District’s student-to-adult transition program, REACH, will be working at the café where they will learn workplace skills and receive job coaching as part of the curriculum.

The opening received coverage in the the local media.
