Flyability Introduces Elios 3 Surveying Payload for Challenging Drone Environments
Flyability, in collaboration with FARO Technologies, has introduced the Elios 3 Surveying Payload which is designed to achieve to-the-centimeter accuracy even in difficult operating environments.
The new solution was unveiled at InterGEO in Berlin on October 10th.
The new payload, Ouster OS0-128 Rev 7, facilitates precise scans of hard-to-reach areas, aligning with Flyability's mission to ensure safety in hazardous environments.
This package includes the payload, training, reflective targets, and specialized processing software, FARO Connect.
Key features of this payload include heightened precision, accuracy, an extended range, elevated point density, and enhanced photon sensitivity.
Serving as an alternative to the existing Ouster OS0-32 Rev 6.2, this solution caters to professionals seeking survey-grade outcomes within challenging spaces.
The features include volumetric measurements within 1% of terrestrial laser scans, distance measurements with centimeter precision, and more detailed point clouds.
The Surveying Payload is bundled with FARO Connect, a software solution developed by FARO Technologies.
The software includes SLAM presets optimized for Elios 3 data.

During processing, Connect interprets reflective targets as ground control points, georeferences Elios 3 point clouds, and filters out noise.
Connect also aligns multiple point clouds for clear visualization.
Outputs can be exported in industry-standard formats for data transfer and analysis.
