Metsä Group’s tissue and greaseproof paper manufacturing business has received a 'Platinum' sustainability and social responsibility rating from EcoVadis for a fifth consecutive year.
Metsä Tissue maintained high scores across all four areas evaluated, excelling in the environment category with a score of 90/100.
Only the top one per cent of companies assessed in EcoVadis' annual ratings are awarded Platinum status.
CEO Esa Kaikkonen says the business is dedicated to advancing the bioeconomy and circular economy by 'efficiently' converting northern European wood into high quality tissue and greaseproof paper products marketed under the Lambi, Serla, Tento, Mola, Katrin and SAGA brands.
She adds: “We are proud to have received a Platinum rating from EcoVadis for the fifth consecutive year.
Despite increasingly stringent criteria, we met the requirements for a Platinum rating, affirming the excellence of our sustainability practices, have been rated highly by the globally recognized entity, Ecovadis.
Our advanced sustainability management system, covering all four assessed themes, continues to provide a solid foundation for the ongoing enhancement of our sustainability efforts.

The assessments cover four themes: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
