PostNL to Reshore to UK with Massive Hub Expansion
PostNL international subsidiary Spring GDS is tripling daily processing capacity at its Haydock hub to 25,000 items a day as it accelerates dispatch times for parcel and e-commerce deliveries to the EU for customers in the North of England and Scotland.
The move follows the official opening of a new UK hub at London Heathrow.
It also supports the company's commitment to the UK by meeting growing demand from strong commerce centres including Manchester which local bodies describe as the "eCommerce powerhouse that has nurtured several of the UK’s homegrown retail tech unicorns including The Hut Group".
Spring GDS believes its move presents a blueprint for other companies seeking to benefit from a reshoring trend Cap Gemini Research report will see 59 per cent of British respondents planning to upgrade or expand manufacturing capabilities in the UK and Europe between now and 2028.
