Savills Enhances M&E Consultancy Capabilities With Acquisition of Data Centre Specialist

Savills has confirmed the acquisition of MEIT Consultants, an award-winning building services consultancy specialising in mechanical, electrical and environmental engineering within the data centre sector, which will be integrated into the real estate advisor's M&E Consultancy offering.

The acquisition will provide Savills with established data centre design expertise in the UK and Europe, adding a new service line that will both augment and complement its comprehensive M&E Consultancy offer, as well as its existing wider data centres offer. The combined offering also gives Savills a platform to scale with its existing clients, as well as creating new relationships and maximising its data centres service across the business.

Established in the City of London in 1988, MEIT Consultants is led by partners Martin Ross and Tim Hale, supported by directors Alan Gibson and Ketan Bhanderi, and comprises 28 members of staff who will immediately become part of Savills. The combined offer will total 90 members of staff who will service the UK and European markets.

MEIT Consultants operates across a number of sectors, with a specific field of expertise in resilient engineering and mission critical projects across the data centre markets in the UK and Europe.

Richard Rees, managing director of Savills UK, comments: "MEIT Consultants has an established reputation in the building services consultancy industry and our combined sector expertise across the UK and into Europe will benefit both existing and new clients."

Jarrod Griffiths, head of M&E Consultancy at Savills, says: "The acquisition of MEIT Consultants provides us with a springboard to accelerate the growth of our M&E Consultancy practice, with a particular focus on growing our offer across data centre design, and we are looking forward to collaboratively exploring the opportunities that this presents."

Martin Ross, partner at MEIT Consultants adds: "This is an exciting move for the MEIT business and one that offers us a platform for growth through the collaboration of expertise that will not only benefit our clients but also our staff. There are significant synergies between the two businesses, particularly around our focus on our people and providing a first class service to clients. We are very much looking forward to joining Savills and working together to augment our combined offer further."
