Veolia is helping cultural, sporting and learning charity Glasgow Life which works with Glasgow City Council to improve energy efficiency and cut carbon emissions at multiple sites.
Veolia will also provide project management and consultancy services, and install a specialist energy performance contracting team to oversee building management system upgrades, the installation of variable speed drives (VSD) which are used to control the speed of machinery, and the retrofitting of modern lighting across sites.
In addition Bellahouston Leisure Centre will gain low carbon heat and electricity supplies from a 125kWe CHP unit that will reduce CO2 emissions by around 200 tonnes per year.
All upgrades will be funded by energy cost savings, with the initial investment provided through Scotland’s Energy Efficiency Programme that was established by the Scottish Government to accelerate the pace and scale of progress in transforming the energy efficiency of public sector buildings.
