Office furniture manufacturer NARBUTAS is exhibiting at the Stockholm Furniture Fair until 11th February, with a showcase that includes products for hybrid working environments developed in collaboration with designers from Scandinavia and Italy.
Transforming the office into a 'Home from Home'
NARBUTAS invites visitors attending the Stockholm Furniture Fair to its stand which includes functional areas whose design reflects the reality of office life and the latest trends - including cosier, more welcoming furniture to reflect new employee expectations as a result of hybrid working.
“We are an international, globally recognisable manufacturer, with over 30 years of experience, collaboration with internationally renowned designers, and regular participation in the world’s leading trade fairs, so we are able and willing to share the expertise we have gained.
We invite designers and architects to our stand to get inspired, get some ideas or simply choose already designed, ready-made solutions to furnish their offices with.
For many years, we have been not only producing furniture, but also creating workspace solutions,” says Vilma Sinkevičiūtė, NARBUTAS Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
As one of the strongest office trends is the cosiness of home, the stand displays a lot of upholstered office furniture, which perhaps best reflects the home environment.
The functional areas furnished with this furniture help you feel good, interact with colleagues and inspire you to perform certain work tasks.
The stand also focuses on spaces for work meetings, which are now becoming highly mobile and multifunctional.
However, perhaps the most important reason to visit the NARBUTAS stand is that visitors are welcomed by both the company’s staff and designers, who invite you to meet and chat with them as well as to listen to live presentations as they share their most interesting experiences, completed projects, and talk about the furniture collections they have designed.
Although hygge encompasses many things, the culmination of this state is a bond forming between people.
An idea for your office: at work, employees need to feel like themselves
On the first day of the trade fair, visitors have the opportunity to listen to the presentation of Danish designers Christina Strand and Niels Hvass from Copenhagen on the topic “The Space for Being Yourself”. “Hygge is a part of our culture, it is very popular, so it is highly likely that we are bringing this philosophy into NARBUTAS furniture without even thinking about it.
However, we believe that hygge is also characteristic and close to Lithuanians,” said Christina Strand, one of the designers of NARBUTAS furniture and presenters.
A representative of NARBUTAS is also very happy about the collaboration with the Danish duo Ms.
Strand and Mr.
Hvass. “Working with this design duo based in Copenhagen, Strand + Hvass, has been extremely productive.
To gain a stronger foothold in the Scandinavian markets, we looked for local designers.
In 2014, we presented a very wide furniture collection JAZZ, created together with Christina Strand and Niels Hvass, to the Scandinavian market at the Stockholm Furniture Fair,” Ms.
Sinkevičiūtė says. “Another best-selling furniture collection, created with the same designers, is the TWIST&SIT family of chairs and armchairs which is wide-ranging and extremely popular with our customers, and one of whose products received the Red Dot Award in 2019.
Also, SOFT ROCK, a modular lounge furniture system, won the German Design Award in 2022.”
At the NARBUTAS stand, the designers talk about the blurred boundaries between work and home as home increasingly feels like work, and we expect to feel the closeness of home at work.
The design tandem believes that employees who feel comfortable in their environment, like its furniture and other physical factors that surround them and help them feel like themselves, are more motivated and engaged in both their work and the company life.

When ergonomics and comfort go hand in hand
After a burst of Nordic cosiness, southern energy is infused by Italian designer Adriano Baldanzi, a co-founder of the design studio Baldanzi & Novelli designers.
Our years of collaboration with this design studio show how much we value and carefully select our creative partners.
Together, we have designed and produced the ARCIPELAGO collection of lounge furniture, the WIND and NORTH CAPE families of chairs, the latter of which received the Red Dot Award in 2021.
This year’s newest products include the WORKLAB multifunctional piece of furniture, and the distinctive D-CHAIR executive chair.
This new product is given special attention in the trade fair.
It is expected to compete with the best products in this segment thanks to its combination of ergonomics and distinctive design.
The Italian designer will be making a presentation entitled, “D-CHAIR: How to Do More with Less”, which will explain how chairs play an essential role in business - with cushion-less seats having even been demonstrated to affect the readiness of a customer to compromise on price in a negotiation.
Tools for professionals to have more time for life
Simonas Savickas, NARBUTAS Head of Workplace Design, shares his insights on the future of work and talks about the latest tools for professionals from NARBUTAS.
His presentation on “NARBUTAS Virtual Office: The Future Is Interactive", looks at the virtual office, and how users can feel as if they are walking through different workspaces.
He says: “This allows them to take a close look of the office areas of most interest and the furniture, recommended for those areas, as well as to change the configuration or colour of furniture in one click.”
