The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards programme is the largest occupational health and safety awards programme in the UK, with almost 2,000 entries annually, covering almost 50 countries.

In addition to these four gold medals, the facility services provider has received the prestigious RoSPA President's Award for achieving 10 consecutive gold awards for its performance on the Cumbria Consortium contract at the Sellafield nuclear site, where it delivers integrated facilities management services. This accolade highlights the company's long-standing commitment to quality, health, safety, and environment (QHSE), which is especially important at highly regulated sites such as those in critical infrastructure.

The RoSPA Health & Safety Awards recognise organisations' commitment to continuous improvement in the prevention of accidents and ill health at work. The awards programme evaluates entrants' overarching health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement. Mitie's achievement is a result of its LiveSafe programme, a QHSE initiative that involves training and workshops to emphasise the importance of workplace safety to colleagues, resulting in a culture that continually drives high standards of QHSE performance across the business.
