Senior Appointments at Schools Caterer

Palmer & Howells, a specialist caterer to the UK's independent schools sector, has appointed Jeremy Alderton as managing director.

Alderton, who comes from a classical craft background, began his career as a chef working in restaurants and five-star hotels where he developed a passion for the hospitality business.

His career has included several years at a large, global catering and facilities management organisation where he progressed from catering manager to managing director.

Throughout his journey, he gained valuable expertise as an operator and sales director, both in the education and business & industry sectors.

Notably, over an eight-year period, Alderton successfully led and grew its independent education business.

Ben Wood, CEO of Palmer & Howells, says: “We are delighted to welcome Jeremy as our new managing director as he brings with him many years’ expertise and an in-depth knowledge of both the independent education and business & industry markets.

The importance of assembling the right team underscores our commitment to growing and diversifying the Palmers & Howells business.

Alderton adds: “I am thrilled to have this opportunity to lead the Palmer & Howells business which encapsulates what is important for clients, pupils and adults – appetising, modern and healthy food which is freshly prepared, bursting with flavour and locally and ethically sourced.

"I also share Palmer & Howells’ dedication to highlight the significance of a wholesome and balanced diet which plays such a crucial role in boosting wellbeing during the busy school day and later in adult lives in the workplace and beyond.”
