An estimated 1,000 participants from from fifty-eight countries have gathered in Kraków for the 26th European Conference on Artificial Intelligence (ECAI) as Poland hosts the event for the first time.
The 5-day event which ends on 4th October includes a programme of technical papers, as well as many AI-related events of interest to researchers, students and industry professionals.
Chaired by Professor Ann Nowe from Vrije Universiteit Brussels, ECAI 2023 has been co-ordinated by Kobi Gal, a Professor in Ben Gurion University (a public research university in Beersheba, Israel) as well as the University of Edinburgh, who has led its Programme Committee of over 2,600 scientists.
Multiple sub-events include 30 workshop and tutorial sessions on the campus of Jagiellonian University, as well as sessions for young scientists including PhD candidates.
The main conference at Krakow’s state-of-the-art ICE Convention Centre which overlooks Wawel Hill (the location of Wawel Royal Castle), is being led by Professor Grzegorz Nalepa, PSSI Chair in Jagiellonian University’s Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science.
A series of five lectures includes a session for industry which has been organised with Kraków Technology Park - the sponsors of the event.
ECAI 2023 has received considerable organisational support from the President of Kraków and Jagiellonian University.
